Stradavarius Violin

This Stradavarius Violin was left to me by my grandfather and it was his grandfathers violin. It has the number 17 stamped on the inside of it. It also has some Latin on the inside of it and it has four or five strings on it.

I've been told by different appraisers that its only worth $250 dollars and to insure it for $500, but my grandmother said that it was worth more than $20,000.

I'm just looking for some answers as to whether it's authentic or not, price is not the concern for me.

Is it the real thing?
